Covid-19 has separated us but our children can still experience the impact of service & community!
Aaliyah has been nominated to represent her school and community at Envision an Enriched STEM Experience at the University of Cal Berkeley and we are reaching out to our network for support!
By attending this program, Aaliyah will join other motivated students from around the country for an experiential leadership & career exploration program. This will be a powerful experience, which will enable her to interact with respected professionals in various fields while building relationships with students who will be her future colleagues.
During the medicine simulation, Aaliyah will examine aspects of human anatomy, focusing on the heart and lungs. She will even participate in a dissection!
As an aspiring engineer, she will undertake hands-on design challenges while exploring the process and principle of engineering design. She will then program a mBot robot, which she will use to compete in a robotics challenge and then be able to take home after the program.
Always popular with students, the CSI simulation will allow Aaliyah to take on the role of detective and apply science-based forensics skills, such as fingerprint analysis, to unlock clues and solve the case of the missing map.
All of these engaging simulations will not only allow Aaliyah to apply her newly acquired knowledge but will also allow her to enhance her analytical and critical thinking skills.
Aaliyah's participation in the program depends on whether we can raise $2,495.00 in sponsorships. The tuition must be paid no later than April 1, 2021.
