Hello, and thank you to everyone reading this, because I know you're here for Dutch, but first I would like to tell you about myself. My name is Sara and I am an animal lover, and pit bulls are my life. Over the course of the last few years I've helped multiple rescues both as a foster, and as someone who pulls pits directly from the animal control centers and that's how I met Dutch.
Dutch is my 4 yr. old Pit Bull that I rescued from Animal Control 2.5 years ago. I had seen a post on Face Book that he was running out of time and would be euthanized any day. I had just lost my very first dog and best friend I ever had and I was heartbroken at the time and couldn't imagine becoming attached to another dog. I was in a bad place. At the time I also had 2 fosters as well, Aurora and Rosie, both female Pit Bulls. Well Dutch's picture kept coming up in my news feed so I decided to go meet him. I didn't knwo what to expect. When I got Dutch to the testing room he was full of energy but also SO full of love!! He put his paws on my shoulders and kissed me for the longest time. He was so sweet and beautiful. I decided then to take him home and foster him. I couldn't let him die. At the time I thought I was saving his life, but the truth is he saved mine. By putting my grief aside to help Dutch I began to heal, and in time he showed me that he wasn't just my best friend, but I truly believe he's a guarding angel sent by my other beloved boy that had passed. Dutch is loyal to a fault. He's the first one there to cheer me up when I'm having a bad day, and finds his greatest joy in the happiness of others. He's a true pit bull through and through and would do anything to put a smile on the faces of people he loves. So I decided to adopt him and give him his forever home. I also adopted both the girls I was fostering as well and they are a wonderful pack. Since adopting Dutch I have fostered more than 20 other Pit Bulls in need and have helped them find their forever homes as well. Dutch has been an amazing mentor to them all. There are no words that can describe what Dutch means to me. He is my heart.
A couple of weeks ago Dutch became lethargic and developed a lump in his front leg, I knew something wasn't right. I took him into the vet right away, and he ended up needing a biopsy. The surgery wasn't easy because the tumor was much closer to major arteries than first thought, and the mass was solid, so they were unable to safely remove all of it. Just a few days after his surgery the veterinarian called me with the worst news of my life. My baby, my boy, has cancer. They told me radiation would be his best chance. Without radiation the tumor would come back. I am now at a loss. I've exhausted all of my funds on his surgery alone. For as Long as Dutch has been in my home he's taken care of me, his two sisters, and any foster we've ever brought in, including the one that's here now. So now it's my turn to help him. I'm asking for donations to help me save his life. I can't do it on my own, and Dutch doesn't deserve to die because of my financial situation. I will provide all receipts for his medical so that anyone who donates can see exactly where it's going. I was thinking if I can get 120 people to give $25 that would do it. That would save him. I've never been good at asking for help, but Dutch doesn't have the voice to speak for himself. Please help save my boy.
THANK YOU!!!
