Help me get back on my feet.
Hey there guys. To those who know me, they know this is the last thing I wanted to do, but I do not have a choice anymore.
To those of you that don't, my name is Jessica. Back in June of this year, I was terminated from my job with the TSA. The reasoning they gave was absences even though all but one had been at the behest of management and they had all been for an existing medical condition. I'm currently fighting for damages and wrongful termination.
Fast forward to now, I've been looking for a job since the day I was fired however nothing has stuck. The Workforce Commission will not help beyond letting me use the computers because of my condition and with me nearing the end of my unemployment benefits, I am at a loss with what to do.
To make matters worse, in the beginning of November, my fiance's car was totalled in an accident, leaving only my car. This has made things difficult, but we managed. I even started driving for Lyft to try and see if I could make ends meet with that. Now its even worse. My car will not start. I've had the battery checked, replaced and it is fine.
This car is all we have left. Without it, I can't go to interviews and my fiance can't go to work. We don't even have the funds to have it towed to a mechanic, let alone have it fixed.
I chose to set the amount as $4000 to cover the fees that GoFundMe sets to give us around $2500. This amount makes sure we can have the car repaired and gives us a little more breathing room for another month or two.
I hate having to resort to begging for help, but I really don't know what else to do. To any that can help, thank you so very much. It means the world to us. Even if all you can manage is a share, that will still help.
