Jess’ road to recovery

Hello friends and family,

On Thursday sept. 16th Jess was rushed to the hospital. She underwent emergency surgery due to her carotid arteries being damaged. Her left one was 99% constricted. They placed 3 stents in order to open it back up and restore blood flow. The doctors said the right should heal on its own in time.

We suspect the trauma occurred this past weekend at the lake. Of course trying to create memories together, her and I were being pulled on the tube by a boat eventually being thrown off

Due to the restricted blood flow. Jess experienced nausea, lightheadedness, sensitivity to light and ultimately paralysis. Thankfully, she has regained almost complete control on her left side however there is a lot of weakness on her right, mostly in her leg. She is currently in ICU being closely monitored.

Anyone close to Jess knows that she’s been on an amazing life path, she’s been killing it in the gym, really taking care of herself mentally, doesn’t drink or smoke, has really connected with God, and is an amazing mother to her two beautiful girls. She’s been working extremely hard and has made us all very proud and but just like that our world has come crashing down around us.

She’ll be out of work for some time whilst working towards regaining movement on her right side with a PT and inevitably, the medical bills will start to add up. It’s a long road ahead and we are very optimistic.
