Medical bills

Hi my name is Kayla and Patrick Ching and we looking for help in getting funds for my older sister/Sister in law Cheyenne Belford. She is 31 years old and on one morning she was a pedestrian crossing the street on her way to the store, She was struck by a car and flew 20 feet in the air. Her heart had stopped for 10 mins and she was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. When I got the news that my sister was in the icu with tubes in her throat I was devastated. I was told she was not awake. They told us she wouldn’t wake up, they told us she would not be the cheyenne we knew, they told us it was just her body not her spirit. As days went by she had woke up and new who she was and who we was. Thank you Jesus for that. We had been asked the hardest questions in our life because yes she had waken up and we got her back, but the bad news did not end there. Cheyenne and our family were told that when she got hit, her spine was severed from c1, and somewhere in the middle of her back. We were told  there was no way in fixing it. So cheyenne will have to live with a ventilator and a feeding tube for the rest of her life. She will not be able to move anything from the neck down. She had decided to go on with her life she is sad and hurt to know what the outcome is but, she is a fighter and wants to live. she is a loving big hearted person sister aunty friend exc… word can’t describe who Chy was and is always smiling with the most beautiful smile, always welcoming forgiving if you needed her she would be there , she would give her last to anyone who needed it. In all words, she was a amazing person. We our now trying to reach out to anyone for help for Cheyenne. please aloha and god bless, we do believe in blessing and miracles. from day one she has been just amazing on waking up and being able to communicate with us. she able to mouth word,Spell,Read,Understand, And she still

Has so much humor in her. Cheyenne is there We do believe anything can happen please please anything helps.

All funds will go to Cheyenne! and to any medical , legal , and expenses that may challenge her hard long road ahead. 

There is a lot of prices on things to help her on her long hard Road of her life to live. 

Chy is asking for a 

TD pilot it a device that is compatible with an iPad. She’ll be able to control it with just her eyes. She’ll be able to FaceTime us she’ll be able to communicate better with us and to nurses and doctors should be able to watch movies and listen to music and just enjoy life with this technology device. We all do love are technology. I think we all can agree. The price of this is $15,565 This is something she really wants.

-The cost of our ongoing unlimited phone bill witch we have already started for her is around $60 a month 

 

-Cost for a wheelchair for a quadraplegic averages $50,000 for the best to travel or come home on special occasions the price goes up This would make it easier for her to transport from place to place 

-The chances of getting into a care home is not that high, what we were told, so if she can’t get into a home, most likely she will have to come home. and a generator to help her live at home will cost $30,000. 

  

-Note there are only 3 care homes on the island that take people like her and the same situation. These places are not the best places for someone to live short term or long term. they are fully packed and 3 or 4 to a room you will not be able to enjoy your family time with your loved one. The only best other facilities will be off island, and her medical said that most likely family would have to pay out-of-pocket for her to fly. Chy had noted to us that if she has to live like this, she wants to be in the best place. She said that we would have to Grant her wishes and putting her in the best place, regardless of where it is. The prices just go up. My heart is so sore to hear how expensive life can be for someone in this predicament.

During the situation, the fact that she’s not with family 24/7 she’s been having bad anxiety really bad panic attacks. She goes into a mode of depression and it gets very overwhelming for her. We do believe that a tablet might help so she’ll be able to call family whenever she wants. Doctors and nurses are so busy. There’s a lot of other patients that it kind of gets hard to take their time to set up their tablet to call  family. We do really need help when she’s on the tablet that the facility has to call home she seems to be calmer, smiling, and even giggling when we are around her she seems calmer. It’s when we go home and she’s not able to use the tablet. She goes into a panic attack. Please if we can’t reach our goal of what we have, we do wish to make some goal for this tablet.

This tablet will be worked with all just a pupil of her eyes. She cannot talk or move her arms or legs she only can mouth words so we have to lip read. This tablet will be adjustable to her eyes.and make it easy for her to use on her own. It will help her communicate  and she will be able to explain what she needs. Or wants. She gets really frustrated and overwhelmed and depressed. When others can’t understand what she saying not everyone can read lips good. Please please anything helps
