There are moments in life when a family is asked to carry more than anyone ever should. Right now, one incredible family in our community is facing that reality as the Harnest’s and their son Scout, bravely battles Ewing sarcoma.

After an exhausting journey of appointments, testing, and treatment, they now have hope through a specialized 6-week proton therapy program in Cincinnati. While they are incredibly grateful that the medical procedure itself is covered, the reality of relocating for six weeks comes with enormous financial pressure — accommodations, meals, transportation, and significant time away from work.

The outpouring of love and support from this community has already been overwhelming in the best possible way. The Harnest’s appreciate every bit of it. Every message, meal, donation, and prayer has reminded this family that they are not fighting alone. But the road ahead is still long, and we have another opportunity to lift them up when they need it most.

We are asking our community to continue rallying around this family so they can focus on what truly matters: helping their son heal. Any contribution, no matter the amount, will help ease the financial burden of this extended stay and allow them to be fully present for their child during treatment.
