I have been diagnosed with colon cancer. Due to the co-morbidity of Ulcerative Colitis my surgeon Mister Jerrett will perform a subtotal Colectomy with a ileorectal anastomosis. Basically I will lose all of my colon exept the sigmoid colon and connect that piece to the ileum.
That means no ostomy if everything goes well. Not really willing to think of it not going well.
I came up with 9500 pounds to raise to cover a years worth of rent and some additional funds for food.
Clearly I hope to be back on my feet within 3 to 4 months, but my friend who has gone through a similar procedure took a full year to recuperate.
I am grateful for your thoughts, prayers and time. I can't believe I am asking for money as well. I never thought I would be in this spot. I really don't know how I feel about this... shame, humbleness, failure are definitely floating through my brain.
