Help me help my family...

My name is Jeffrey Rivera Lindaya, and a resident of Yellowknife, NT. @ 2pm today, Wednesday, June 1st, 2022, I received the devastating news that my family in the Philippines lost everything they had in a fire that gutted the house they live in. It was 3am in the Philippines, and my whole family, including my ailing parents, 2 siblings and 4 nieces, 1 nephew, and brother-in-law, were in a deep sleep. For still an unknown cause, the fire started at the front of the house, blocking the only way out, leaving my family nowhere to run. The house was fenced with a concrete wall at the back, and the only means to escape was to climb up the wall. Luckily, there was a small shed at the back of the house, and my brother and brother-in-law helped each one to climb to the roof and jumped to the other side of the wall for safety. The fire grew high and quickly burned everything down. Through God’s grace, all of my family were able to jump out in time. My brother lost his 4 dogs. This crushed his heart deeply. He had to save the family first and couldn’t go back for the dogs. My brother also suffered multiple cuts and bruises, hurting himself in the process of helping each family member to escape. He had to go to the hospital to seek medical care. The family is still in shock and the children are still traumatized by what happened.

Please help me help my family get back on their feet again. I am the only breadwinner for my family, and any help will go a long way. Our priority is to find them a place to stay, food, clothing, furniture, kitchen wares, and things for day-to-day living moving forward.

My goal is to raise $5,000 to cover most of their immediate recovery needs.
