Help support Chris

My brother Chris was a victim of a brutal attack on Friday December 11 in Cole Harbour in which he found himself holding onto what he thought were his last moments. He was walking to Forest hills parkway when he was randomly, without reason stabbed several times in his throat with an unknown object. He managed to call for help where he was rushed to emergency room.
He spent the rest of the night in surgery where doctors, and specialists from all over the city came together to get my brother in stable condition. He spent the next 24 hours on life support. He has since been through surgery to have a tracheostomy put in, and remains in stable condition.
He still cannot talk, and cannot eat. He has had severe damage to his muscles and nerves in throat/neck which control voice, eating, swallowing and breathing. It may take a year before he fully recovers from this senseless act of violence.
In all of this my brother still manages to stay positive cracking jokes and keeping in mind he was a mere 1mm from losing his life.
He is a very hard working man, working seven days a week. Unfortunately EI will not be able to cover him during this time. He cannot work for a month at the very least. Even then may not be able to return to work fully for several months. I am hoping to help relieve some of the added stress of getting himself by for the next month.
I know our entire family would be very grateful.
This could have been anyone of us...
