Help Apollo Walk Again: Support His Surgery
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Brooke Sarris, and I am seeking help for my dog, Apollo’s surgery. A week ago, when Apollo woke up, he started acting weird—not wanting to walk up the stairs or jump on the couch. The vet discovered that he was experiencing back pain and gave him several medications to help with pain and inflammation. Within days, he has lost functionality in his hind legs and now can’t walk without incoordination, crossing his legs, and falling over. He has also lost control of his bladder.
The vet now suspects he has IVDD, intervertebral disc disease, which compresses the discs in his spinal cord and can ultimately lead to paralysis. This disease is common in small dogs and could have been caused by degeneration over time or an injury from jumping.
He needs an MRI and surgery on his spinal cord in order to prevent permanent paralysis. This can cost up to $18,000, which my family is not in the position to cover. We would appreciate any and all help to heal our sweet Apollo. Any donations will be used to help cover his MRI and surgery. Thank you so, so much for the help!
