Hi my name is Meg Macdonnell, and I’m the proud owner of the sweetest 2.5 year old French bulldog Monty (Monty Python if you’re cool). Monty came into my life during the pandemic when I needed a friend more than ever and he’s truly become my partner in crime. Now i can’t imagine my life without him the little guy makes my bad days manageable and the good days great! Unfortunately, on October 3rd I came home from work to discover that Monty was unable to stand or move his back legs due to sudden onset of IVDD. He’s currently in a lot of pain and the doctors can’t do much to correct the situation without expensive testing and surgery. As a recent graduate looking to pursue further education my financial situation does not allow me to provide extensive emergent care for the little guy. Medical imaging from specialists for this type of condition starts at approximately $4000 CAD and surgery can be anywhere from $12000-$15000 CAD. In cases with spinal cord injuries timely treatment is essential for the best results, and I’m hoping with your help Monty will be able to receive the care he needs in order for his condition to improve.
