For over 30 years, Chris Blimmel worked as an adoption worker at Cradle of Hope Adoption Center in Silver Spring, Maryland. He helped to create thousands of adoptive families through the agency’s work in China, Russia, Guatemala, Romania, Ghana, Ukraine, and the Republic of Georgia.
In January 2025, Chris suffered a severe brain infarction, which left him in a coma for weeks, and in intensive care for months. His vision, speech, memory, and ability to read and write were significantly impaired. In April he was discharged to a nursing home but his funding there will end soon, and Chris is still unable to work. His disability payments will take months or longer to be approved. He does not have family to love and support him, he is without financial resources and is facing homelessness. Chris needs to be in a safe, handicapped accessible apartment but he’ll need assistance with rent for at least the next year.
Chris has helped thousands of orphaned children find new homes in adoptive families. Can you make a donation to help Chris get back on his feet and into an apartment?
