RUN4ASIA

I never believed that attending a 10k would change my life overnight. It has been an incredible blessing and an amazing journey. The reason why I say journey is because if I have learned anything about weight loss, it is that losing weight is a day to day and oftentimes an hour by hour journey. One that I have been on for 2 years. I have had many ups and I have had many downs. I decided to take control of my health once I watched my children’s father lose not one, but two of limbs due to diabetes as a result of his obesity. Every time we went to the doctor, my 3 children would worry about me. There is nothing like seeing the worry on your children’s faces and you know they are wondering, will my mother be around to see me go to my prom, graduate, watch me get married, have my own children? On the path I was going, tipping the scale at over 500 lbs, the answer was certainly a no and I knew I had to change.

Through the help of my family and friends, hard work, a lot of sweat and even some tears, I have managed to lose 200 lbs through strictly diet and exercise. And I am still going! Even with all the events surrounding my finishing at Rodes 10k, I am not done! It is my desire to lose 100 more pounds and get close to my goal weight of 170 lbs. Even with the joy of losing so much weight, there is the aftermath of what years of obesity has done to my body. While I am delighted with the weight loss, seeing the sagging skin that covers my body truly takes a toll on me mentally and physically at times makes it a challenge to work out. I am seeking donations to assist with this surgery so that I can have the excess skin removed. The cost for this surgery is approxiamately $29,000 and that would cover both my arms, legs and back and stomach. If you can just donate a dollar that is wonderful, any amount would be appreciated and go towards my goal of having all my excess skin removed.
Whether you are able to donate or not, I would like to encourage everyone to continue to or to start leading a healthy lifestyle filled with a clean diet and exercise. There are no quick fixes, simply hard work and dedication! I encourage you to Run 4 Asia, Run 4 You, Run 4 the health of it!

Thank you so much for your time, prayers, encouragement, messages and love.

Keep on Moving!
