At the beginning of August 2021, our wonderful best friend Jose Sandoval was diagnosed with stage 3 Germ Cell Tumor. Germ Cell Tumors are growths of cells that can be cancerous or non-cancerous. Unfortunately, in Jose's case, the tumors growing across his entire body are cancerous. This came as a complete shock given his young age and healthy lifestyle. Immediately after he received this diagnosis, Jose began an intense 4-month chemotherapy treatment that has 5 sessions every 3 weeks. Following chemo, he is also expected to require surgery to remove the remaining tumors.

If you've been lucky enough to meet Jose, you know that he has a kind spirit and a truly compassionate soul. He is sensitive, thoughtful, loving, humourous, and one of those people that you can’t help but love. Jose has always been a very passionate and driven individual and has given a lot to others and the community. Jose's cancer diagnosis has devastated us all, but we are so proud of his strength on this journey so far and his determination to beat cancer.

As many of you know, cancer treatments and ongoing medical appointments can be extremely expensive. Even with insurance, there are still additional costs to cover treatments, hospital stays, and more. With Jose being unable to work full time, we are hoping to ease some of his family's financial burden by covering treatments, medical bills, the cost of food, and anything else that he will need throughout his battle against cancer.
