Help John FIGHT, LIVE, WIN!

My husband John Arguello, a Navy man, former volunteer fireman, and a self-employed father of two children under the age of 2, is battling cancer. Already a father to a 15 month old baby boy, Lorenzo John, we welcomed our baby girl, Olivia Marie, in January. We were excited and anxious to get the new chapter in our lives started. On March 10th, just two months after Olivia was born, John was diagnosed with cancer. We were saddened, shocked and overwhelmed, but it never took us over, and we focused on our children. If you know John, he was gonna fight this cruel disease until the end.

He insisted on working; he refused to stop or even slow down. He had hardly been able to spend time with the kids over the last 5 months. He knew more time would be spent away from them, but he had no choice he had to get better for them, me and lastly for himself. That's one of the many things I love about him. He is the most selfless, giving and generous person I know, and has a huge heart. He has given so much to his family, friends and strangers. He's the one you call for anything and everything, the first to lend a helping hand when there is a need.

So there it was...Stage 2 colorectal cancer. After numerous consultations, appointments, and procedures the plan was finally in place and so began his journey. He received his daily chemo and radiation treatments for 6 weeks. He stayed positive and motivated even when chemo and radiation became challenging. His focus was his family and getting better; always believing that nothing was going to stand in his way.

A month after treatment ended it was time for surgery, they removed the tumor and discovered the cancer had spread to his lymph-nodes, further advancing his cancer to Advanced Stage 3. Additionally, he encountered a number of setbacks post-surgery, struggling with two infections and spending an additional week and a half in the hospital, away from me and the kids. He is in so much pain. And now here we are, 7 weeks later, still with an abscess. Plus an additional infection, both causing his crucial 2nd round of chemo to be temporarily on hold. This illness has affected our family not only emotionally, but now also financially and John is still struggling with the complications from the surgery and no longer able to work.

Please help him and our family lessen the financial burden we are enduring, as he continues to fight this long battle with cancer. Anything you can contribute will help! No amount is ever too small. Thank you for reading our story, for your support and your blessings.
