Please help us recover

In 2015 I found the man of my dreams and in 2019 we were engaged to be married. We decided to have a longer engagement and marry in 2020 so that we could save our money and have the celebration we dreamed of.

In 2020 Covid hit and our venue that we booked shut down. We decided to continue to be positive and hold our celebration in our back yard. We spent months getting everything ready and that’s when everything changed. 

In June, Trent became very ill. I rushed him to the hospital. Where he stayed for 64 days. And due to the pandemic, I was unable to even visit him. He was diagnosed with necrotizing pancreatitis from gallstones that generated an abdomen full of pseudocysts. 

After several ups and downs (mostly downs), he was finally released to finish recovering at home. I was so excited to see him for the first time in two plus months... but I was surprised to see this strong caring man in such a weak and fragile state. 

Once home, I had to learn how to care for his pic lines and feeding tubes. Up every couple of hours sitting next to him and offering comfort while he fought vicious rounds of nausea and pain. 

I’ve continued to work full time and working on my license for work and my bachelors degree at school. After a month of having him home and trying to care for him and support us (and failing) I ended up in the emergency room with exhaustion.

I came home to find out that he’s officially been laid off of his dream job and losing his insurance. Doing the best we can we decided to rush our marriage to get him covered under my insurance. 

The financial strain and overwhelming medical bills have been taking its toll on both of us. I’ve been posting everything I can think of for sale, including his vehicle. With him still going through set backs in his recovery and no idea when he will be able to return to work. We’re drowning and need some help.
