In This Family, No One Fights Alone
Spende geschützt
In 2014, at the age of 31, Skyler Garner was diagnosed with cancer. Skyler soon endured 15 rounds of Chemotherapy, 29 rounds of radiation and had surgery to remove a 12 pound tumor. Not only did they remove the tumor during the surgery, they also had to remove one of Skyler's kidneys, his adrenal gland, and psoas muscle.
In 2020, the year with seemingly endless bad news and heartache, Skyler was unfortunately diagnosed with cancer, again. Skyler recently had to undergo another surgery to remove another large tumor. During this surgery, Skyler also had his spleen, part of his pancreas, and sidewall of his stomach removed, and muscles shaved off his diaphragm. Shortly after this surgery, Skyler had to be readmitted to the hospital due to blood clots in his lungs. Since then, Skyler has been released and is currently recovering at home. At this point, doctors are unsure if Skyler will have to undergo chemotherapy.
Skyler has selflessly served as a police officer for 15 years and is currently assigned as a Student Resource Officer. Skyler is an amazing person and is guaranteed to make you laugh when you speak with him. He is a fantastic husband and Father of two beautiful girls.
Due to recent changes within the city, Skyler will only receive 6 days of "Sick Leave" before having to claim disability pay, which only allows him to collect 66% of his normal paycheck. With everything spelled out above, one can only imagine the financial hardships Skyler and his family face. Skyler is fighting his fight and has been an absolute warrior in doing so. It is our responsibility and duty to take care of this amazingly selfless servant, husband and father in any/every way possible. Giving Skyler and his family one less thing to worry about during these trying times is the LEAST we can do. In a year that has been so dark, lets shine light and love on Skyler and his family.
If you cannot donate to this fund, PLEASE share it on all your social media platforms and spread the word around! Also, keep Skyler and his loved ones in your thoughts in prayers!

(I am adding this information so funds can be withdrawn for Skyler.)
My name is James Baumgartner
I am from Nappanee, IN
Skyler is a fellow police officer with me, for the City of Nappanee.
The funds raised will be provided to Skyler and his wife to relieve financial stress they may encounter during Skyler's road to full recovery. It is also being used to help offset the reduced pay he will face once his "sick leave" days are exhausted at the police department.
Once the funds are withdrawn, the funds will be hand delivered to Skyler and his wife.
