Help Rowan Get the Medical Care He Needs
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Marisabel Tirado, I typically would not do something like this but my cat needs immediate medical attention to become himself again. I got Rowan during my freshman year of college, while I was living away from home in a dorm, where I felt I needed him most. He quickly became my best friend and all I felt like I had at the time. He was the most friendly cat anyone could meet. He loved to play and loved to be pet, even get belly rubs. He just turned 3 years old a week ago. Two days ago, a flip switched and Rowan wasn’t himself. I noticed he’d sat at my desk chair all the day and didn’t get up once, not to eat, not to drink water, and not even to use the bathroom. Rowan was the type to move locations all around the house and hangout and bird watch from different windows. When I noticed he hadn’t left my chair and wouldn’t even pick his head up to say hi to me, I knew something was wrong. Yesterday (6/2/25), I took him to our family vet where they gave him an IV with electrolytes and administered anti nausea medicine and informed me he was severely dehydrated. Today (6/3/25), I noticed he wasn’t feeling any better. From the second we got home from the vet yesterday, to around noon today, he slept in the dog cage in our spare bedroom and slept every minute he could. I decided we needed to go back to the vet. Today they decided to do an X-ray on him and the results showed some soft tissue like material in his stomach and intestine, but they weren’t sure what it could be, and neither was I. They recommended he be transferred to an animal ER for an IV, an ultrasound and additional testing. Just a few hours ago, he was admitted to Animerge Pet Hospital where he will have an ultrasound done tomorrow and will be monitored for the next few days. The vet bills from the past two days have accumulated very rapidly and to an amount I am having trouble affording. To date, his vet bills have reached over $3,000 and that is without any further diagnosis or surgery (if need be). I am a very hard working 20 year old college student working part time as well as babysitting and dogsitting in my free time. I usually would not do something like this however I was extremely unprepared to be faced with something like this. Anything is appreciated, even if all you can do is share this! Rowan is the sweetest boy and too young to be going through something so hard. Getting him back on his feet and back to being himself is my main priority. Thank you for taking the time to read this and thank you to anyone able to donate or share this post. ❤️
