Jen’s Journey to Recovery

My name is Kristy Marshburn, I am the sister of Jennifer Helms. As many of you Know Jennifer has been battling Covid and ALL the complications that come along with it! She spent 67 days in Novant Hospital (where they all took amazing care of her) Recently she was transferred to a pulmonary rehab, where they can give her the best care to get her back home to us all! Jennifer is a fighter and has been working extremely hard to get to where she can come home to her family! This has been a battle she will defeat! But many of you know that just because she is fighting the fight of her life, the bills don’t stop coming, and now she will have major medical bills on them too! Her husband Ted has not left her side since they finally allowed him to be with her! He is currently having to stay in hotels after visiting hours end each day, as she is in rehab hours away from home! He isn’t the type to ask for any kind of help except for your prayers! And trust me all of your prayers is what God has been hearing and answering and we thank you from

the bottom of our hearts! God is still in the miracle business and Jenn is a true testimony of his mercy and grace!! Jenn is still on the trach and unable to speak, she mouths and Ted translates lol. She is still unable to eat any kind of solid foods (aspiration is a concern still at this time) Her muscle tones are very weak and they are having to do physical therapy to rebuild them! But we know that God will fully restore her! She is struggling with anxiety attacks but she is determined to get home to her sweet babies; Zac and Savanna, who miss her greatly!! They haven’t had to spend more than a couple days without their mom, so this being separated is very hard on them as well! After communicating with Jenn and Ted, I have their permission to set up this gofund me to try to help ease some of the burdens that this family has! If you are not able to help with donations, prayers work too! Prayers is what has gotten them thru so far! And Prayers will be what continues to get them thru till Jenn is able to return home! She still has a very long road ahead of her but I don’t know anyone any more determined that she is! Whatever way you can help this family, is greatly appreciated! Again, thank you all! Love, Kristy
