Healing and Wholeness Project

Female genital mutilation is shockingly still being practiced in countries such as Sierra Leone, where 94% of the women there have suffered from the excision.

Edith is a 31 year old asylee in California from Sierra Leone who has survived the most brutal form of female genital mutilation, and as a result suffers not only post-traumatic stress from the torture, but also effects from scarring, severe pain, and excessive bleeding with menstruation.

Fortunately, Edith has the opportunity for restorative surgery through Clitoraid, a non-profit organization whose doctor, Dr. Marci Bowers, will perform the surgery in San Francisco for free, but funds are needed for the hospital stay, anesthesia, and related costs.

Please donate to this worthy cause so that Edith can heal from this trauma and feel like a woman again!
