Hello! My name is Kimera and I'm a mixed media artist in Colorado. My work is grounded in the power of repetition and transformation—layering paint, clay, plaster, and mixed media to build abstract compositions that blur the line between painting and sculpture. Guided by daily creative habits, I explore dualities like chaos and calm, joy and intensity, and stillness and movement. My textured surfaces invite viewers into a sensory experience filled with bright colors, whimsical forms, and illusionistic space. Creating is not only an act of expression but a daily grounding ritual that keeps me tethered, centered, and evolving.

In my exploration to grow as an artist, I sought out an opportunity to live abroad and evolve my art and practice. I share with excitement my acceptance as an artist in residence to the Eutopia Art Residency: Sea and Urbanism program in Kavala, Greece. Not only is it one of my life's dreams to go to Greece, but this opportunity will culminate in an exhibition with global and diverse exposure.

These funds will be used to help me pay for the expenses to travel and live in Kavala for nearly a month this summer!
