Help Chris Battle Cancer

Donation protected
In October 2018, Chris was diagnosed with a myxoid liposarcoma tumor in his left leg. During the routine work up for this, he was found to also have another unrelated cancer of the left kidney called small cell renal cell carcinoma. He under went high dose radiation to the leg tumor at Froedtert in Milwaukee and in January 2019 had both cancerous masses removed. Due to the tissue damage from the radiation, healing in the leg was inhibited and the surgical site became infected. Chris was put on two strong antibiotics to avoid hospitalization that severely affected his liver and caused acute liver damage. This made him more ill than the radiation causing jaundice, anorexia, weakness and fatigue.

With a less than 3% chance of recurrence, exactly 3 years later, the myxoid liposarcoma has returned in the same leg. Chris is currently undergoing 18 doses of radiation over the course of 3-4 weeks in Milwaukee. Then, 5-6 weeks following radiation he will have surgery to remove the tumor behind his left knee.
Chris is a father of 5, grandfather of 2, son, brother, fiancé and future stepfather of 3. He is an extremely hard worker who will never ask for a hand out. He loves to catch some “wind therapy” on his Harley as often as he can. He will go out of his way and risk his own life to help anyone in need. He is a respectful supporter of all whom have served our country and thanks all the vets who cross his path.

Chris is fortunate to have health insurance and a very supportive employer at Tunnel Vision, but will have to meet an out of pocket deductible of $7k this year (2021), next year (2022) and a few years after that for surveillance imaging and follow up visits. In addition to medical bills, all the traveling back and forth will be costly.

Any and all help will be greatly appreciated! Your donation, big or small, makes such a difference. Please share - this sweet family really deserves our help!
