The news has also stopped my friend, Nicoleta, from accepting the offer to her dream university due to the surgery's high costs and the need of taking care of her mother, father, and younger sister.

Due to the severity of the tumor and the necessity of high-quality medical equipment, Angela needs to undergo her extensive brain surgery in Turkey as soon as possible. The cost of the surgery is $44,000. Besides this factor, Angela will need post-operative care, including costly radiation, supplemental medications, follow-ups, tests, etc. The family comes from a small country, Moldova, being one of the poorest countries in Europe. The average salary in Moldova barely covers living expenses, let alone such an expensive surgery. Another reason why Turkey is the option chosen for this surgery is because Moldova is not able to offer the required health services for this procedure.
