Help Bring Bob Home

On Saturday, November 9, 2024, our father, Bob Bishop, drowned while swimming at Playa El Balsamar in El Salvador.

Bob and his girlfriend, Aida, were vacationing in El Salvador while visiting family and friends to celebrate her birthday. Tragically, Bob, Aida, and others were swept underwater by a dangerously strong Pacific current. Thankfully, Aida was rescued from the water, but they were unable to find Bob. After a 48-hour extensive search by land, water, and air, authorities recovered his body at Playa Mizata.

Aida has remained in El Salvador to assist in Bob's search, recovery, and return so that his family can say goodbye and have closure. All funds raised will contribute to costs associated with bringing him back to the United States for memorial services.

Bob did not have life insurance, nor are there funds available to alleviate the considerable expenses. It is a complicated process to repatriate his remains, which involves travel to and from El Salvador.

We will release further details as information is provided to us. Please keep Bob's family in your prayers, particularly Aida, who has championed the search and is dedicated to helping our family get him back home.
