If you know a Stottlemire, you know strength. To know a Stottlemire, is to know perseverance, and determination, and grace. Stottlemires rarely give in, and never give up.
Family is the core of the Stottlemire existence. As a family they have overcome the obstacles life presented, brushed each other off, and kept moving forward.
The "Rock" of the family has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Appendiceal Cancer. A rare and incurable type of cancer. But he has maintained his (Jim) Stottlemire Strong attitude, and is vowing to kick cancers ass, in what will undoubtedly be the battle for his life.
Jim is insisting he will continue to work with a company he loves, coach wrestling, baseball and softball with the youth of his small town, be involved in school and community functions and enjoy the simple things that make the best memories.
Through his contagious smile and warm laugh, Jim is worried about the financial strain his illness will put on his family. Jim, and his wife Lisa, have the very best kids, 6 of them in fact. The 3 youngest are 15, 10, and 9. Stottlemires are proud, and Jim is the head of their pride.
They prefer to be the ones lending a hand, but this time they are the ones who need one.
