Arts Tickets to Low-Income Students

LivenUp events raise money so that low-income students in the San Jose area can go see a live performing arts show for free. But many who are unable to attend one of our fundraising events have asked if there's a way to support the students directly. That's what this page is for.
Our goal for 2022 is to send 1000 low-income students to see a show. And here are a few of the upcoming performing arts shows on our wish list:
* JUST BUNNIES and TEA WITH ALICE are mini-musicals aimed at young children (aged 3 to 10) produced by San Jose Playhouse and coming to 3Below Theaters this Spring. Bunnies teaches kids to celebrate diversity, while Tea With Alice is actually a very entertaining lesson on etiquette. Both are produced and presented by San Jose Playhouse and feature a cast of professional actors & singers who interact with the audience after the show.
* Symphony San Jose is bringing the DRAGON BALL SYMPHONIC ADVENTURE to life this year as the latest installment of their Movies In Concert series. There is simply no better way to introduce young people to classical orchestration than through these live movie experiences.
* DISNEY’S THE LION KING makes its triumphant return to the Center for Performing Arts in August, and we are hoping to raise enough funds to bring hundreds of kids to see this breathtaking and inspirational musical live and in person.
So the math works like this:
* A $50 donation will send one student to see a show.
* A $100 donation will send two students to see a show.
* A $500 donation will send 10 students to see a show.
* And so on.
The money raised here will go exclusively towards the purchase of tickets for low-income students, and nothing else.
With so many great shows coming to town in 2022, please help us to share the magic of live theatre with young people in our community who could otherwise not afford to buy a ticket.
