Assistance for Pvt Cooper
My name is SSG Angela Etheridge from Columbia, SC. I just ended an assignment 1 1/2 years ago, in which I mentored young soldiers entering the Army. Through social media I recently found out that one of those soldiers' was harshly affected by Hurricane Matthew in Goldsboro, North Carolina.
PVT Corea Cooper (NG soldier) was forced out of her home due to excessive flooding and lived in a shelter for about a week. When she returned to her home, she found that most of her belongings could not be salvaged (furniture, clothing, etc.). Also due to the damage caused by the flooding, bacterial molding began to form. The dwelling she is currently living in is now condemed. She is currently unable to receive FEMA assistance due to someone already receiving it that lived in the home with her and has since moved out leaving her there (Pvt Cooper is in the appealing process with FEMA). To make matters worse Pvt Cooper is 8 months pregnant.
Her reserve unit is located 1 1/2 hours away from her residence and she has no transportation. Pvt Cooper was working at KFC but is unable to continue walking to work due to her pregnancy. The reserve unit has not yet been able to provide her assistance whether that is due to funding or communcation is unknown. At this point this soldier needs immediate relief!
The donated funds will be used for a security deposit and first months rent on a new apartment along with replacing needed furniture. The remaining amount will be used for items for her baby that is due early January (pampers, clothing, carseat, etc). Pvt Cooper will have direct access to withdraw these funds and turn her living situation around.
Helping soldiers is very important to me! I remember when I was once a young soldier that needed a helping hand and some guidance. Please assist me in turning this situation around for this soldier.....No donation is too small!
Thank you for your time and God Bless!
