The Reade Family Fund

Recently my friend, Nora Reade, and her family have been blindsided by heart wrenching news. Nora's father, Thomas Reade, was diagnosed with Churg-Strauss syndrome. This is an extremely rare disease marked by blood vessel inflammation. The severity of the inflammation can restrict blood flow to VITAL organs and tissues, sometimes even permanently damaging them. Churg-Strauss syndrome unfortunately has no cure but doctors say chemotherapy and powerful immunosuppressant drugs can control the symptoms. Sadly Mr. Reade’s condition is much more severe in which the painful treatments of chemotherapy have not been successful. Mr. Reade describes his pain as feeling like “his whole body has filled up with cement” and he also feels extreme soreness as if he had “participated in a strenuous workout.”

We can imagine the financial stress the Reade family is undergoing due to these tragic times, so I would like to support the Reade family and ask everyone join in. The Reade family continuously gives back to their community in Long Island, NY. Nora herself is the founder of SPLASH, a customized instructional swimming program geared for special needs children; where Nora and her family dedicate their free time. I would like to ask for donations to help support my dear friend and her family. By supporting the Reade family Nora will be able to continue her education and her love for American Sign Language at Bloomsburg University stress free knowing that some of her father’s medical finances are taken care of.
