Raising money for Michael’s expenses (Cancer)

Hi, my name is Michael and I am currently battling Stage 4 Colon Cancer. In August a 10cm tumor was discovered in my right colon. Emergency surgery successfully removed the tumor but was diagnosed as Stage 2 High Risk. Two weeks after my release I started experiencing chronic pain in my abdomen. The pain persisted into October when I went to the ER again. I was admitted to the hospital and after 2 biopsies the cancer had spread into my stomach and now I have four tumors of varying sizes. Throughout the months of November and December I was in and out the hospital while the doctors tried various medications to get my pain under control. During these stays I underwent two chemotherapy treatments only to be switched to immunotherapy treatments as my tumors were identified as having rare mutations.

i have had two immunotherapy treatments so far plus the pain medication appears to be working and have been home since right before Christmas. But the multiple surgeries and hospital stays have wiped out my finances. This fundraiser has been successful along with outside donations that have paid the bills and kept me from being homeless.

Over the past few months I have been approved for disability, but still face difficulties with paying medical bills and other necessities. As it is my car will be repossessed in the next day or so. I am trying to find a job but having been out of work for a year. But I keep praying and hoping for the best.

i also want to let you know I am a military veteran serving eight years serving in Las Vegas and Japan. I also spent several months in Kuwait while Saddam was in power. Now I work in IT and enjoy going to church and spending time with my family.

The battle is real but I also know I have tremendous support from family and friends here in the Atlanta are all the way across the country.
