Update on Joshua:  Thank you for your overwhelming support and generosity over the past 12 gut wrenching days.  You have blown us away with your kindness and willingness to help.  It is with great sadness that I share Matt’s post about Joshua’s passing today.  No family prepares or talks about the potential death of a child.  There is no savings for funeral expenses or medical bills that haven’t even arrived yet.  Matt and Christina are the epitome of public servants- Matt proudly serving in the Air Force and Christina selflessly serving as a Special Education teacher at Laurel Lane Elementary (also where the boys have gone for the past year).  Christina worked summer school to save up to be able to take some extra weeks of unpaid leave with the birth of Josephine (teachers do not get paid maternity leave).  This Gofundme will help the family pay for unexpected funeral costs, hospital bills, and might allow them to be home a little longer without having to go back to work in order to grieve and support James and Josephine.  Your generous contributions will mean that they might have one less thing to stress about as they face the devastation that comes with losing a child and trying to find a way to keep moving forward.  Thank you thank you thank you from the bottom of our hearts.  We are moved and eternally grateful for your love, prayers, and support.

Webster defines "traveler" as one that goes on a trip or journey. Joshua has always been a traveler. Never one to stay put and always wanting to explore something or somewhere new. Today Joshua took his final trip on this earth at 6:06 am. He fought so hard and was so strong but in the end he decided to embark on one last journey.  We were by his side and he went peacefully. There was no pain as he slipped sweetly to the great beyond. When you find yourself in times of trouble Mother Mary comes to me. Whisper words of wisdom. Let it be.

Hi. My name is Jessica Levin. I am starting this Gofundme for the Peck family to support them in this time as they confront a medical tragedy with their son, my nephew, Joshua Peck. Josh has experienced a cascade of unfathomable medical circumstances over the past few days. He started vomiting on Sunday and became out of sorts through the day. He was taken to the emergency room on Sunday evening and things went downhill incredibly fast. It was suspected that he had bacterial meningitis (which has since been confirmed), but he deteriorated quickly. He was intubated Sunday evening and flown to the CHKD PICU. Over the next 24 hours it was identified that he had a serious stroke and brain swelling. Unfortunately his condition is not improving. Our hearts are broken and we are all shocked and devastated. We need your prayers for healing and a miraculous recovery. The Peck family will need all your prayers, love, resources, and support in the coming days and weeks as they face the impossible.
