Hi friends, thank you for for taking the time to read this!
Asking for assistance is not easy for me, and I tend to carry a lot on my own. But, I’m pushing myself to be vulnerable at a time when I truly need support, because people can’t help if they don’t know it’s needed.
Over the last couple months, I’ve been navigating a series of medical challenges. After finding a lump in my breast, I went in for a mammogram and ultrasound. Unfortunately, they were indeed abnormal and I underwent a biopsy. While the results were suggestive that the mass is benign, there are still unanswered questions and concerns, so I am now preparing for a lumpectomy. I am extremely grateful that so far there is no cancer, but I would be lying if I said I’m not scared.
The road to this point has involved multiple procedures, consultations, and an MRI — which was unfortunately denied coverage by my insurance. As a solo business owner without a safety net or paid leave, this has deeply impacted my ability to earn income. I’ve had to cancel the grief retreat I’d spent months preparing, and pause other offerings that sustain my work. Essentially, I'm looking at 5-6 weeks of reduced capacity to earn income.
This fundraiser is meant to bridge that gap to help cover essential living expenses for me and my daughters, and out-of-pocket medical costs. Your support will allow me to rest and recover without having to push myself out of fear of survival, so I can get back to doing the work I love so much-supporting families through birth, loss, and grief.
If you feel called to support, whether through a donation, a share, or words of encouragement, it would mean the world. This support doesn’t just help me — it helps my family. It gives me the gift of recovery, and the peace of knowing I can focus on healing while still keeping our home and hearts steady.
With Love and Gratitude,
Ashley
