Nationals Bound

The players of Marquette Jr. Hockey's American Legion Post 44 Bantam hockey team has just won the Tier 2, Bantam AA State Title. These players have been dreaming of a State Championship since the first day they could tie their own skates. After a very successful campaign where the team has gone 49-11-6, they now advance to the USA Hockey National Championship in Amherst, NY-April 3rd-7th, after winning the State Title on their home ice.

"I think our team is playing our best hockey of the season right now," said Easton Dellies, team captain. "We are excited to get to Nationals and keep playing at a high level"-"We are all very excited for the opportunity. "We also want to thank all of the 2,000+ fans that watched us win the State Championship"

The team has about 3 1/2 weeks to prepare, raise funds and get to the tournament. The costs are substantial-bus transportation alone for an entire team and volunteer coaches will soar north of $12,000.

It averages out to about $1500-$2000 per player. With 18 players and volunteer coaches, the team hopes to raise in excess of $25,000.
