***********UPDATE******************

As I was writing this campaign, Ayden passed away on 12/02/2015 around 9:45pm, in his home along the side of his mother, grandmother, siblings, close family and friends.

Please help this family in this much needed time as they grieve.

Recently Ayden complained, mommy my head hurts, not knowing how to tell me that he was having headaches at the age of only (4) four years old. We made a trip to his primary care doctor at that time blood work was done and we were sent home as it was a routine office visit. But Ayden continued to complain having these episodes more and more frequently. Ayden was complaining that his head was hurting and he began to vomit. He started to experience all kinds of symptoms, unable to put on his own shoes, difficulty walking.  At that very moment our life took a drastic change. I immediately took him to the emergency room at Florida Hospital, explained the symptoms and requested a CAT scan. I was told the unthinkable, maybe the most devastating news I could ever be told, Ayden has a mass on his brain, numerous test were performed it seemed like life had left my body but how could I not be strong there were (4) four other children in school depending on me to be supermom. From there a multitude of test were done including a MRI. And there it was, Ayden was diagnosed with DIPG (Diffuse Intrinic Potine Glioma). In simple terms it’s a brain tumor that’s located at the brainstem that causes pressure to the cranial nerves. These nerves control muscles used for all motor skills including the ability to chew and swallow. It also can cause double vision, difficulty in controlling eye and eyelid movement, as well as facial expressions. It can also cause weakness of the arms, legs, and difficulty in speaking and walking.

I come to you with a humble heart of faith. As I walk this journey with the man above beside Ayden who is no longer able to walk, instead we use a wagon or a stroller, he no longer talks or even act like the playful (4) year old we once knew. Unfortunately Ayden time with us may be cut way too soon; I ask that you help take some of this burden as it has become unbearable to financially support my household and Ayden’s hospital care. We are so grateful for anything that you might be able to contribute any amount will help as pennies turns into nickels. Thank you.
