In September 2015, Skip went to the doctor for evaluation of a cough and shortness of breath. A chest xray revealed a mass in his right lung, and further testing confirmed that he had stage IIIA lung cancer.
Courageously, he began treatment with aggressive chemotherapy and radiation. He has had ups and downs through his battle, and has been working hard to win this fight. One of his set-backs was a 5-week hospitalization/rehab stay for complications from his treatment, and he was home for a short while.
He is now back in the ICU at Bryn Mawr with pneumonia and anemia. He had already been off work for the most of the year preceding this diagnosis for severe pain from a (benign) tumor on his foot, undergoing surgery and other treatments.
Barb continues to work full-time and is providing the sole income while they await Social Security payments to begin, which will be several months.
Barb and Skip would graciously welcome any monetary donations in order to keep up with the never- ending house and medical bills, food, gas, etc. As always, prayers and encouragement are also greatly appreciated and help Skip fight on!!!l
With much love,
Audrey and Jess
