Have you heard the news? Pleasant Valley High football team takes NorCal title, heads to Long Beach for state final!
This is the first time in PV High School's Football history that the team has made it to the State Championship game. As you can imagine, traveling from Northern California to Southern California with a team of 77 players, along with their coaches, which total 90, will become a very costly event. In addition to the enormous football team, our cheerleaders, who have cheered the Vikings on through the whole season, plan to travel to Southern California as well.
The adventure down south will include 3 Charter buses for 3 days, leaving Friday, December 16th and returning Sunday, December 18th. Lodging will be needed for Friday and Saturday night, including meals for the 3 day road trip.
CIF (California Interscholastic Federation) will fund up to 55 players for a one night stay, as well as, the bus/meal expense. Both Chico Unified School District, and the PV Sports Booster Club, have been approached to donate as well. However, the expense of this trip is far beyond what these organizations can afford to fully support.
Our kids have worked so hard, all year round, to get to this point. We would like the Chico Community to show how proud they are of this team and help fund this history making event. We want our student-athletes to represent the PV Viking Family, and more importantly, represent Northern California, the best way they know how! We need to come up with the funding ASAP!
