Beau was born with a rare and complex congenital heart defect called hypo plastic left heart syndrome.  This defect requires him to have 3 open hear surgeries over the course of his life.  He had his first open heart surgery at 1 week old.  Now it is time for his second surgery in July.   UAB/Children's of Alabama is not participating yet in the study that is needed.  So the Clarks have to travel to Philadelphia and live there to have Beau's second surgery.  We all can't imagine costs involved and the emotional strain that Alex and Bennett have to endure throughout this process.
