I’m Franceska, owner and cake decorator of Pu’uwai Aloha. Thank you for taking the time to click the link and read about me and my bakery dreams

One year ago I became the proud (and a little scared) new owner of Pu’uwai Aloha Bakery, a beloved gluten-free, hole-in-wall bakeshop founded 8 years ago by Susan. Anyone who has been there knows this place is special, I loved working there and loved connecting with our customers many of whom had traveled far and wide to find something like us.

We had to move out of our original location and since then have been in temporary kitchens while looking for our longterm space. I have been wearing all the hats, business owner, baker, decorator, supply runner, customer service agent… and it has been a challenge to keep the business open without help, no storefront and rising ingredient costs.

I am stubborn and persistent though, and I dream of a sweet little spot where we can get back to baking gluten-free and vegan goodies like our mouth-watering cinnamon rolls, tasty savory bagels and gorgeous custom cakes. I envision expanding to offer more than before including drinks, community events, beautiful items made by local artists….

There are so many possibilities!

This is why I am here, sending out a call for your support. I believe I can bring back the magic of Pu’uwai Aloha, and I need the support of our beloved customers to do it.

To get up and running we need to secure a longterm location, purchase equipment, potentially build out and certify our kitchen, hire and train new staff (and more things I am sure), so we can get back to doing what we love: baking gluten-free and vegan goodies, supporting local, and feeding our Ohana.

Every donation, no matter the amount, makes a difference and brings us one step closer to reopening our doors like we and our loyal customers have been dreaming of.
