Putting the ACTION in Freaks Action Network
Tax deductible
Hey, there, party people!
This is simple. Some of you may or may not know that I am on the board of the Freaks Action Network , which is a cool charity started by myself and friends of mine who see way too many concerts in New York City. We basically can't say no if there is a cool gig to be had. So hopefully you can't say no to my request.
While we started raising money for music in New York City schools and things of that ilk, when the pandemic hit, we started using our resources under the guise of the Live Music Relief Fund to issue grants to musicians, performers and back and front of house personnel. The need was great and the requests were many and we were fortunately able to fill many of them. Now people can go back to work, we are looking to fill our coffers to start donating to music-related causes around New York City.
Also during the pandemic, I started running more with a group of pals who figured we can't possibly get each other sick by running together outside, right? So we started running, and before we knew it, we were runners! Two years later after running half marathons together every other Sunday, when the Brooklyn Marathon was announced, we looked at each other and said, if not now, when? So we are running in the marathon! All 26 miles. Crazy, no?
Go Fund Me didn't have a mechanism for me to ask you to donate per mile, so I just picked $5k out of thin air, but think about what you'd donate per mile, multiply by 26, and I promise I will finish the whole race!
Thanks so much for your support!
