Hello!! I’m Genesis, I lost my cat a few days ago to a few different health issues (kidney, bladder, anemia related). He was the sweetest kitty, I took him in one year ago when his previous owner, Tanya, had to find him a new home. Tanya and I have kept in touch and tried our absolute best to help him out within our means. We are heartbroken, as he meant the world to us. When we took him to the hospital, they told us they could try to stabilize him but it would require two nights in the hospital at least with no guarantee that he would come out okay. I could not afford that but could not give up on him just yet, so we were able to request an estimate for one night in the hospital to see how he did. I am glad I tried. The next day the hospital told me the most humane option would be to let him go. This was one of the most sudden and difficult decisions I’ve had to make, but I am sure Kira is no longer in pain and that I gave him all the love that someone gives their first and only pet. He brought so much joy and peace into my life and into the lives of everyone who was lucky enough to meet him. <3 Unfortunately the bills from his hospital stay and end of life services have put me in a really rough spot financially. In total, his vet visits, medicines, and end of life services set me back over 6k. I have not heard back from insurance yet but the most they could help out with in a best case scenario is less than 2k. I am setting up this go fund me in hopes of getting back to a stable spot with the help of loved ones and community.
