Since we were all kids, music has been at the center of our respective worlds. So many great albums have seeped into our imaginations, spurring us on to make our own music. For the past 10+ years as Smug Brothers, we have shared the experience of making and presenting new music. For us, it's a great thrill to finish an album, sit down to listen, and GO THERE.
We have been working on our new album ATTIC HARVEST since spring 2017. We are thrilled it was recorded and mixed entirely by the band on 4-track cassette and at our new digital workspace, The Holler. With the departure of Brian Baker and Larry Evans as recording members of the group, we enlisted the talents of Scott Tribble on guitar/keyboard to help round out the new material. While the names have changed, the songs remain the same. Building on more than a decade of experience writing and recording together, Kyle Melton and Don Thrasher continue to provide the foundation for the Smug Brothers sound.
So, this is where YOU come in!
We are hoping to raise funds to finance the mastering and pressing components of making a Smug Brothers release on vinyl a reality. The plan is to schedule mastering services with Carl Saff and press a limited edition of 300 on black vinyl with an insert featuring lyrics and collage artwork through Gotta Groove Records. HOWEVER, If we fall significantly short of our goal at the end of 30 days, we will press the album to CD so as not to further delay its release.

At the tier, you'll get a vinyl copy of ATTIC HARVEST [w/digital download], a merch item TBD, and we will write/record a song for you. We will give you a list of titles to choose from, you pick the one you like, and we'll write and record a song for you!
