Put an End to Antisemitism in the Star Wars Fandom

The Anti-Defamation League was founded in 1913 in an effort “to stop the defamation of the Jewish people, and to secure justice and fair treatment to all.” Today the non-profit continues this mission: fighting antisemitism, combating hate, and confronting discrimination to secure justice for all.
In 2019 and 2020, the ADL documented 11,024 incidents of extremism or antisemitism in the United States. It is important that we stay vigilant of the insidious and dangerous conspiracy theories rooted in antisemitic ideologies that are shared online. It is our duty to stand up for what is right and speak out when someone perpetuates ideas that bring harm to others.
The Star Wars fandom has a history of standing up for what’s right by putting advocacy into action. In recent history, fans have joined together to raise over $20,000 for the Transgender Law Center, and most recently they have raised nearly $8,000 for the Loveland Foundation Inc.
It is unfortunate that yet again dangerous ideologies perpetuated by some members of the Star Wars community have brought us to this point, but it is important that we stand up and speak out about what we see. There are, after all, more of us.
Today we ask you to help us fight back against hatred and bigotry by donating to the Anti-Defamation League. If you can’t donate, please share on social media, and continue to learn how to root out antisemitism and those who push these ideas. This is the way.
