Greetings -
For starters, our family want to send a heartfelt THANK YOU for your continued prayers and support!
As many of you know, last Monday Bobby's (PUSH) life took a turn. Unbeknownst to him, he was suffering from diabetes and currently he is critically ill. Bobby's A1C was 14 and a normal level for a non-diabetic is less than 5. Hence, Bobby's level means his blood sugar has been in the 400-500 range for the last three months and the normal blood sugar should be less than 100. In hindsight, Bobby had obvious signs of impending diabetes. He had been complaining of extreme thirst and frequent urination for several weeks. As a result, this then progressed to weakness, feeling nausea, and vomiting. He is currently in multi-system organ failure and his kidneys are not functioning as they should. In addition, he has pancreatitis, liver failure, and a blood clot in his left leg.
To know Bobby is to love every inch of him! He will light up any room with his laugh or just his presence alone. In life we attempt to have control, but living will show you quickly how much control you really have. Bobby lived a normal, happy life and no one could imagine the turn of events that has happened over the last week. We are excited for the day he will come home and continue to live his life to the fullest! However, as a result of the unforeseen events that has taken place, you can imagine the expenses outside of medical that health insurance does not cover.
"If you have only one smile in you, give it to the people you love." - Maya Angelou. Nothing is too big or small, even if it's just a smile and a prayer. We love you all and will pray with you as you pray with us!
Bobby is known as "PUSH" to our family; Feel free to hashtag #PushthruPush as you share this story.
