Bobteam Stewart's Push to Italy 2026

Hi, I’m Mackenzie Stewart, a Team Canada bobsleigh pilot and the reigning Canadian Champion, with my sights set on the 2026 and 2030 Olympic Games. My journey in sports is about more than just winning medals—it’s about inspiring the next generation, breaking barriers, and showcasing what’s possible when you chase your dreams with relentless determination.

Growing up in a small town called Madeira Park, I learned the value of perseverance and hard work. Transitioning from summer sports like soccer & track and field to bobsleigh was a leap of faith, but within six months, I earned a spot on Team Canada. This decision taught me that sometimes, giving up the wrong dream is the first step toward finding the right one. Now, as I aim for the pinnacle of my sport, I’m calling on the support of my community and beyond to help me achieve what feels impossible alone.

The cost of competing at an elite level is immense. A cutting-edge 2-woman bobsleigh costs around $80,000, and a monobob sled is another $50,000. Technology in our sport is ever-evolving, and Canada is playing catch-up in terms of sled competitiveness. To stand a real chance on the world stage, I need new equipment and the resources to fund a rigorous training and competition schedule.

My fundraising goal is $204,217. This will cover essential expenses like:

New sleds to keep up with the latest technology.

Training and coaching fees.

Travel and competition costs to race against the best in the world.

This journey isn’t just about me. It’s about representing my country, inspiring others, and proving that with the right support, dreams can become reality. When I’m not on the track, I’m pursuing a degree in Psychology with plans to earn a master’s in Forensic Psychology. My goal is to work with at-risk youth, helping them find purpose and build lives they may never have thought possible.
