Pursuing Tara's Medical Miracle

Donation protected
“PLEASE  HELP!” Those two words are difficult to say, but desperate times require us to make this request of you. Our cherished daughter Tara is in grave condition, and is beyond our local medical team’s ability to adequately manage or treat. We must now raise funds in order to seek treatment at a comprehensive facility, such as the Mayo Clinic. Tara is a bright, beautiful, kind, loving person, wife, and mother. Though she is only 26 years old, she suffers from many illnesses, including:

Idiopathic Gastroparesis (Paralyzed stomach)

Chronic Kidney Stones (Which often causes Hydronephrosis and immense pain)

Interstitial Cystitis (Tears on the bladder wall, causing lower abdominal pain)

Occipital Neuralgia Myalgia (Nerve damage causing severe neck and migraine pain)

Fibromyalgia (Achy body)

Irritable Bowel Syndrome (Causing severe abdominal pain)

Weak Immune System

Tachycardia (Extremely High Heart Rate)

Severe PTSD (Post traumatic stress disorder)

Schizoaffective Disorder

Possibly POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome)

Clinical Depression & Anxiety

Tara’s GI Doctor is the very best in the area, and believes all of her problems may stem from one unknown condition- but it’s beyond his expertise to diagnose. He would like to send her to the Mayo Clinic, and told her to be prepared to be there for quite a while. They will be running extensive tests to try discover the root cause of her medical issues. Insurance will not cover any Mayo Clinic expenses.

The gastroparesis is DEVASTATING! If you have seen the movie Miracles from Heaven, you will have some insight into Tara’s experiences and pain. After several months of Tara throwing up all day every day, she got a feeding tube placed that goes through her nose and surpasses her stomach, inserting formula and water directly into her small intestine. We were in high hopes that she would be able to feel better and regain some strength. Unfortunately, that has not been the case. She has been struggling to tolerate the formulas and the rate it’s dispensed. She is malnourished and losing weight at an alarming rate. It is making her extremely sick and very weak. If we are able to find a tolerable formula, her doctor will surgically install a J-tube that will go directly into her jejunum. The current tube is ulcerating her nasal passage and esophagus. Tara’s quality of life is not great.  She’s in chronic severe pain, weak, and either nauseated or starving. She is deathly allergic to the only FDA approved medication to help gastroparesis. The only thing keeping her hanging on is for the strong love she has for her family and friends. We are praying for a miracle so that she can one day regain her strength, and be in less pain. Our hope is that she will be able to enjoy life again, happily grow old with her husband, daughter, and all her loved ones.

We thank all those who have given Tara prayers, love, & support thus far, and express our profound gratitude in advance for any and every donation. The difference you make is immeasurable! Thank you, and may God bless and keep you all!
