Purranormal Activity: Help Mulder & Scully the Foster Kitten

Donation protected
(please note: I am using "they" in the singular sense in most of this as I do not know the sex of these kittens yet.)

As I was leaving my brother’s place in Dayton the other night, I found a tiny black kitten just chilling by my car like they were waiting for an Uber (or maybe a UFO to beam them up). The moment they saw me, they trotted right up demanding pets and attention—my car seems to send out a secret Kitten Bat Signal.

Shockingly, they weren't the least bit scared of Brisket or Monster and looked fully ready to hop in and come home with us right then and there. But it was nearly midnight, and I had *zero* kitten prep—no quarantine setup, no kitten food, nothing. So I had to leave them… *for now.*

They reminded me so, so much of my dearly missed and presumably departed Dr. Phil. I couldn't leave them dodging traffic out there.

So, I showed up last night and Daniel already had the first kitten penned up and ready to go (he opened his front door after work and the kitten was waiting, as shown in the photo.)

When we pulled up, I glanced across the street and saw a second kitten. I was like, "don't even look at it, Kristina. You are here for ONE kitten." But by the time we were up on Daniel's porch, the second kitten was right behind us, inviting themselves in, too.

I picked them up and they reeked of motor oil and their white fur was so stained. They rubbed their little cheeks on me and purred as they got to work at the biscuit factory on my arms. I knew I wasn't leaving this second kitten behind, and Daniel tells me these two kittens are always together outside.

The plan: I’ll foster then, get him fully vetted and socialized, then find them a forever home. They've already got a vet appointment this Sunday at 4:00 PM at Gem City Vet Clinic for vaccines, FeLV/FIV testing, and a general check-up.

They got flea treatment, deworming, and a microchip as soon as they were in my arms and safe in my care.

Neuter plans are in motion too—hoping to get them on the RASCAL unit’s schedule in June at Have a Gay Day via Wonder Dog Rescue. If that doesn’t pan out, SICSA’s got our back.

As always, I’ll post regular updates and receipts for every bit of care and cost. Once they're ready for adoption, I’ll put out the word—so if you or someone you know is ready for a sweet, spooky, little black void or a biscuit making tuxedo (or both!) to join your family, let me know! (Yes, I have an application process and check references!)

Any leftover fundraiser money will go straight to the adopter’s vet clinic account balance to help cover future care.

Stay tuned for updates on this cutie - tentatively named Mulder and Scully (pending finding out their sexes)

The truth *is* out there.
