purple - a student thesis film

Hi, I'm Eva Malczewski! I am currently in my last year at Brooklyn College and am looking to cast for my thesis short film this upcoming September! This project means a lot to me and I'm very passionate about the themes and message. This idea came to me and is so special because it is reminiscent of my childhood at this age. This period of growing up was huge for me. It meant I was growing up and my childhood was slipping away undoubtedly. Change was about to happen whether I liked it or not.

I want to share this story not only to bring nostalgia for others but to make a film expressing that change is hard but necessary in life. Compromises may need to be made, to keep some sort of order in the chaos of change and growing up. Also, I want to share how special young girl’s friendships are/can be. I hope that it can be comforting and bring laughter allowing the audience to reminisce on their childhoods, without longing for it again. Instead to cherish those memories and accept that life has changed and that’s okay.
