Shomrim (Stamford Hill) Purim Traffic Management

During the Jewish festival of Purim, members of the Jewish community visit friends and family and take to the streets to celebrate and to spread the joy of this very special day.

As a result, the Stamford Hill area of Hackney was, for many years, plagued with traffic jams and bumper to bumper traffic, causing severe disruption for local residents of the Jewish and wider community and has slowed the response time of local emergency services.

To remedy this issue Shomrim has over the past few years launched a highly successful traffic management project. The project is designed and executed with a great deal of efficiency and endorsed and supported by the Police and the Local Authority.

The annual project includes the recruitment of a traffic management company to provide diversion plans, road signage and the training and deployment of over 40 traffic marshals to assist the public and control traffic at key junctions in the area.

This project benefits the wider community in Hackney and can only continue with generous support from the public.

This project costs thousands of pounds, and without your generous donations this could NOT be achieved. The funds need to be raised urgently. Please DONATE and share with your friends and family. Any excess money will be spent on future projects for the community.
