Hi Friends & Family,

Our grandparents were always known as givers to their community. Whether it be in Watsonville, CA or Pantay, Tamurong. They would give the clothes off their backs and the food off their plates if needed.

To say 2022 has been hard for the Sulay family would be an understatement. Back in March we lost our Lolo (Grandfather) the Patriarch of the family to pneumonia, this was a huge blow to our family. When our Lolo passed, he left behind our Lola in the Philippines with her Alzheimer's progressing and wheelchair bound.

At the end of July, our family was hit with the 7.0 Ilocos earthquake. The earthquake forced my Lola (Grandmother) and some of our family into evacuation. Unfortunately, this led to our Lola contracting Covid. While her recovery from Covid was promising, she was then hospitalized with pneumonia. After a week of what we thought would be a recovery, our Lola’s health took a turn for the worse and on August 28th, 2022 our Lola took her last breath and was reunited with our Lolo.

We are opening this GoFundMe because though our family has paid the majority of the hospital expenses, this GoFundMe will assist us with our Lola's final hospital bill and funeral expenses.

Any monetary assistance is appreciated, and we are eternally grateful for the community and network supporting us. We truly appreciate the love and support of our friends and family near and far. For those unable to contribute monetary, even a simple share & prayer would support us.
