Description:
Puremed follows Leslie, a young musician living in her car looking to find refuge in her romantic interests, toxic friends, and new antidepressant that has become popular to Los Angeles. Puremed is a 3-episodic dramedy web series based on real-life scenarios of artist Tia Tutt and other artists looking to find stability in a world of dysmorphia, mental illness, and comparison.
Budget Breakdown:
* Cast and crew: I always want to make sure people get paid for their time. Teamwork makes the dreamwork and gas is expensive.
* Special Effects: SFX Makeup plays a huge part in this film to show what happens when people take the Puremed antidepressant pill. The makeup brings the Sci-fi element.
* Equipment/Props/Locations: The locations themselves play different characters in the film. Especially the liquor store.
* Food: People gotta eat! I like to see people eat well and support my friends that cater food for a living.
About the Director:
"Film is the most influential, collaborative, yet expensive discipline"
-Ayana Hawk
I have been making films(good and bad) since I was 17. I attended university to continue on my path as an independent filmmaker. My focus is social justice and films with purpose. Aside from film, I spent many years volunteering with youth in the education and foster youth system. The past 3 years I have been working in tech as an UX/UI designer to find solutions to support artists with tech.
