Purée The Movie

Film Description:

Theo, a struggling chef, sets out to run a deeply personal errand in order to perfect his latest dish.

Puree is a short film about the various pressures weighing down the life of a chef, most notably the responsibility and hardships that come with taking care of his mother who suffers from dementia.

The inspiration for this film and subject matter was born from the director, Michael Lawson’s, own experiences with a family member who suffers from the illness, making it a personal passion project.

We aim to explore what it can be like to watch a person you once knew so well slowly drift away through a nuanced script and naturalistic performances.

We hope this film will offer a powerful insight into the life of someone dealing with dementia and all of the difficulties that come with it.
